Bon bini, Friends! (Welcome, Friends!)
Pabien! (Congratulations!) If you have just clicked on this website out of curiosity , you have just discovered a precious gem! IFA (or International Friends of Aruba) is an exciting group! Welcoming members from over 15 different countries and cultures, it is a thriving and dynamic organization.
IFA is a non-political, non-denominational, non-profit club whose purpose is to advance cultural understanding, advance cultural exchanges among our members, assist in achieving a better understanding of Aruba and inform members about issues of interest. (Taken from the IFA Stichting Charter by-laws, written and approved in 2006) We strive to fulfill this purpose by hosting a number of events throughout the year. Many activities are planned for children, adults and families. Some of the highlights of 2007 so far include a “Meet the Members Party”, a “Country and Western Party”, a spectacular “70’s Dance Party” and an “Independence Day Celebration”, all in private member homes. We regularly host Happy Hours, Book Club Get-Togethers, Cook and Taste Events, Toddler Play Dates, Park and Beach Outings and a Monthly Business Meeting. This year we have also enjoyed a Sunset Sail, an Easter Egg Hunt, and many summer casual gatherings. We have many more events to look forward to and we hope you will join us. Please refer to the calendar within this website for all our upcoming activities!
The blend of cultures and backgrounds of the membership of IFA is rare and cherished. We welcome all, from any race or nation. Learning together about one another, our foods, customs and traditions, brings new and longlasting friendships here on our small, happy island.
Please feel free to contact either Jan Allen at arubajan05@aol.com or Diana Barefield at dianabarefield@yahoo.com with any questions. We hope to meet you at our next event!
Pasa Bon!
