The International Friends of
Aruba were recent guests of Jan Allen at Ruinas del Mar,
located at the Hyatt Regency Aruba, for their monthly
Book Club. Members nibbled all the delicacies at the breakfast
buffet, while discussing the current month's selection,
This I Believe: The Personal Philosophies of Remarkable
Men and Women edited by Jay Allison, Dan Gediman, John
Gregory and Viki Merrick. Members of the group were encouraged
to share their own personal philosophies, which ranged
from "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,"
to "being comfortable in your own skin and teaching your
children the same" to "never go to bed angry." Member,
Patricia Jutz shared a touching, emotional philosophy
regarding her childhood and how it formed her life philosophy.
President
Meredith Lauria expressed her gratitude to Jan Allen for
hosting the event. Jan, who was attending her last Book
Club before relocating to California with husband Scott
Allen, promised to continue her book club presence via
internet. She was warmly thanked by all in attendance
for her generosity and friendship during her time in Aruba.
